Big Brother Watch Party - August 14 2024

Hopefully we won't be delayed 2 hours tonight...

Did anyone catch the special yesterday?

We get the update.  It's all about Quinn's power and Tucker's agitating...which admittedly is the biggest dynamic lately.

Angela wins her SECOND HOH!!!  AND SHE'S SO EXCITED!!!

Silly Cedric volunteers to go on the block even though he doesn't want to be a pawn...then don't do it.

We have the "deep fake" Angela.  That's really not much of a fake out when everyone knows it's not actually her.

TONIGHT, the Power of Veto is on the line and TUCKER IS (allegedly) ON THE LINE!

I kind of want Tucker to go this week.  He's just been way too cocky.  On the other hand, the rest of them are pretty boring at this point.  So....I really don't care.  LOL.

Tucker, Cedric and Makensy are on the block.  Quinn tells us that Tucker is his actual target.  He feels Makensy and his "secret agent" Cedric will take themselves down and are "true competitors" who would help keep Tucker on the block.

Tucker still strutting in the Diary Room.  Even if you're a good competitor, Tucker, no one wins them all.  You should remember that...or realize that.

Rabina thinks of Tucker as both a support system and a shield.  I'm not sure how that works as both.  You can't have your support system be a major target unless you don't really need the support system.  She also realizes that being tied to Tucker might come back to bite her.

Quinn controls any replacement nom but can't compete in the POV competition unless picked since he's the SECRET DEEP FAKE HOH...yada...yada...yada

Now we have a pumping iron scene in the back yard and lazy Joe and Leah remarking how they don't fit in with the athletes.  Leah's strategy is R and R...work smarter and not harder.

The Collective is still alive, in Joe's mind, but with Brooklyn replacing Angela after Angela's week one blow-up.  If you recall, she thought they were faking The Collective.

The Collective is The Pentagon + The Visionaries.  Soe we have either one or three alliances.  These people are wacky with the over-lapping alliances.

Brooklyn thinks that Rabena should be the replacement nomination because Tucker will try to protect her even at his own expense.  Personally, I don't see it.  Tucker seems too Tucker-centric to me to fall on his sword for Rabena at this point.  But it's as good a back-up plan as any.

They prove to us that Rabina is very short. I'm not sure we needed the reminder.

Tucker is trying to form a Final Two with Joseph.  Because we needed another alliance to keep track of. They are "The Critics".  But Joseph tells us in the Diary Room that he wouldn't mind a Tucker alliance but he's not going to try to save him from The Collective.

Angela pulls names for he POV.  She pulls Tucker who picks Joseph to play.  If he wins, he will have to come out for or against Tucker, not good for him.  She pulls Cedric who picks Brooklyn to play.

At least in all the DR's we're seeing, they are all still on the anti-Tucker train.

We have one-on-one competitions in the veto.  First round is Brooklyn against Cedric. They have to use trial and error to get across a ramp that has red and green lights in side-by-side pairs - one red and one green for each step forward.  Total of about 12 steps.  The only way to get across is to know the pattern of green, but you can only learn the green squares by trial and error.  If you miss, you have to go back and start again.

Cedric wins!

Second round is Makensy against Angela.  They have a new pattern.  Makensy can't seem to remember her pattern, but Angela is doing even worse.  This could be a long round.  Makensy finally wins, I don't think Angela even figured out half of the pattern.

Now it's Joseph vs. Tucker.  They both do pretty well, but Tucker pulls it out.  Actually probably best for Joseph.

Tucker had the fastest time so he gets a bye to the final against the winner of the Cedric/Makensy match.

Makensy and Cedric are very close and copying each other.  They have the same pattern so you can learn from the other. Makensy takes a wrong step which tells Cedric the right step and then he guesses the last step himself.  Odd strategy, but it worked because Makensy didn't have the patience to wait out Cedric.

It's Cedric against Tucker for the Veto!  And I'm sure we all expect Tucker to win.  LOL.

Tucker is strutting in the Diary Room.  Everyone else is cheering against him except for Rabina and Lea.

Cedric moves really slowly.  I'm not sure what the advantage is in a game where trial and error matters.  There's nothing to think about.

So, of course, Tucker wins!

Angela takes a strut in the Diary Room.  She somehow thinks of herself as a team with Tucker...that is definitely the dark side.

Rabina and Tucker flirt in the kitchen while Makensy is looking for goat cheese. Tucker threatens to not use the veto  He appears to be seriously considering it.  He is a total nut job.

Tucker is going around telling everyone he may not use the veto on himself.  He's getting mileage out of it even if it turns out to be a bluff.

Time for the Veto ceremony.  Tucker uses the power of veto on himself.  And Quinn via the "deep fake Angela" chooses Rabina as the replacement.

  31. Tucker's arrogance will be his undoing

  32. I don't see the game case for not using the veto. It proves nothing to win the AI game. And if you don't, you need to have the house willing to evict someone else. Makensy doesn't seem to have a lot of friends, but she also doesn't appear to be high on anyone's list to get rid of.
