It won't be the same without Jackie's summaries. But we can still hang out. And there's the age-less Julie, telling newbies how the game works.... Uh-oh. It's BB-AI...remember when the world used actual words? $750,000 Grand Prize!!! Why don't they just round it up to $1 million? Doesn't that seem like a more significant number? We're only going to meet half the houseguests tonight... 4 foot 9 inches...shortest houseguest ever? Rubina - with a Napoleon complex. Cam was a former CFL professional football player and is now a Physical Therapist. I like him at first glance. He's not loud and obnoxious and seems like a decent, normal professional. McKenzie is a blonde construction worker. She's a former D1 volleyball player. I could go either way on her. She spells her name Makensy...she just lost me. LOL Joe is a 30 year old video store guy. He's got an 80s occupation with a 70s moustache. I'm already missing names...how did Jackie d
first
ReplyDeleteSorry, I was a little late...but still FIRST! LOL
ReplyDeletesecond
ReplyDeleteThird but I was in the other room, LOL
ReplyDeletegrrrr
ReplyDeleteSo voting opens after the show this evening... early polls are showing Quinn, Joe & Cam as the main noms from America
ReplyDeleteOoh, I think I mised soemthing
DeleteMe, too. LOL. It would have to suck three times as much to be America's nomination. It means: 1. You're nominated. 2. America hates you and 3. The House will think there's some secret reason America voted for you.
Deleteyeah, technically, Monty is first LOL
ReplyDeleteLol 😘
DeleteGeez. Insert eye roll here. LOL
ReplyDelete<------ if you all could whisper a little prayer for my buddy here tonight, I'd appreciate it. He just isn't himself these days. He's thirteen and kind of fading. 😓
ReplyDeletePrayers. Sending you a hug too. Xoxo
DeletePrayers coming. I've got a similar issue with my 10 year old Newf. We spent all day yesterday at Cornell Medical School's Vet Hospital. It's a 90 minute drive from me, but they are great...although it never ends well when I have to go there.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteTrue. It was hard for me to even have a reasonable conversation with the vet as I was trying to lay out the limits of what I was willing to put her through. Even though it was all rational and I knew what I needed to do, it was impossible to get it out without choking up...and we weren't even at that stage yet.
DeleteThen, when we got home, the meds they put her on had her incapable of walking. She's 135 pounds and she couldn't use any of her legs. I was convinced I was going to have to put her down just because I couldn't manage her. Lasted all night. She barked till 4 a.m., couldn't do anything but paddle with her front paws. At 4:30, I got her out to the deck...barely...and it was only a 15 foot trip. She still couldn't move her back legs at all and could barely move her front legs.
Then all of a sudden at 6:00, I hear her moving on the deck. By the time I walked the 15 feet to the door, she was halfway down the ramp. Frigging miracle.
Not to be Dr. Gloom, but older dogs can be prone to various cancers. And not all of them are easily detectable. My dog, Andi, probably has a brain tumor. Her blood work is perfect. The only symptom was infrequent seizures. She had about one every 6 weeks or so since last September. They told me to ignore them until they became more frequent as there is no easy test. Then, all of a sudden, she had 5 in a 36 hour period starting at midnight Sunday.
DeleteWe had a neurology consult scheduled for the 21st but with the cluster and a little panic, I decided to go to emergency. They started her on phenobarbital for the seizure. Bloodwork still normal. It could be something like adult onset epilepsy, but that's rare. 80% of the time it is a growth and brain surgery on a senior dog just seems cruel to me. So, I'll probably do the MRI (despite the cost) just to have clarity on the diagnosis, but I'm still basically going to have to let nature take its course.
The problem is, as I'm sure you know, you just become hyper sensitive to the slightest behavior of the dog.
Yes! I'm sorry for you pup Andi also. It's just hard to see them decline like this, but I'm not willing to give up on him getting better just yet.
DeleteOh, never give up until you have to. I didn't mean to imply that at all. It's just that older dogs get things that don't always immediately show up on bloodwork. My previous Newf, Keira, was almost 12 years old. She was having trouble walking but eating fine and her bloodwork was perfect. Her bloodwork was perfect until the night she died. One day, after dinner, she just went down and wouldn't get up. I couldn't give her food, nothing. I carried her to the van, went to the emergency vet. The echo showed she had an abdominal mass that had ruptured.
DeleteThe problem is, as you know, the dog can't tell you exactly what they are feeling. And so you are left guessing and you don't even know what tests to run.
Yes, I know. My cat, indoor from nearly birth, lived to seventeen so I was spoiled with longevity with her. And I know Boston's don't have an especially long life expectancy. I appreciate all of you for letting me talk about what we are going through. 💕
DeleteI don't mean it to seem so negative. I also had a cat who should have been named Lazarus. He almost died as a kitten. And as a 10+ year old, he would stop eating look awful and they would find the problem and fix him. Once it was heart meds. Another time antibiotics and vitamins. The hard part is getting the right diagnosis. Sometimes vets will just say... well he's old.
DeleteHi everyone! I'm really sleepy tonight so might not make it through the whole show...
ReplyDeleteHey everyone ..I just got home...Let the fun begin
ReplyDeletenooooooooo. NOOOOO. Just no.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Monty. Hope he can hang in there a bit longer. Sending a big hug.
ReplyDeleteHey Cheryl, Sharon & Celine!
ReplyDelete**prayers for Joey**
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, Monty. I hope he fades very slowly and enjoys lots more days with you
ReplyDeleteI think we still have Jackie’s rule of no spoilers on a show night post, right?
ReplyDeleteMeh...LOL. We're down to about 6 people. Does anyone care?
DeleteOk then!
DeleteI wont spoil anything.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that monty
ReplyDeleteCedric did keep checking-in with Kenney, and each time, Kenney had a different answer. That segment was spot on.
ReplyDeleteJoe, sorry about your pup too. I'm glad you are close enough to Cornell to use them when needed. I hail from about 2 hours north of there and people up here (where I am for the summer, which is almost over for me 😭) have taken their animals down there at times when vets up here couldn't help.
ReplyDeleteThey can do things that most regular vets can't. They do regular things also, but I go there for the specialists. But, as I say, as a result, it's usually a horrible trip with limited upside.
DeleteI took my first dog down there - heart failure, he died there. I took Mia there for a cardio-check, sever SAS. I took Andi for neurology, probably brain tumor.
Ithaca traumatizes me.
Does Kenny want to go home more this week than last week?
ReplyDeleteNow I can see why feeds were down for so long...
ReplyDeleteTucker is amusing me in this comp
ReplyDeleteI have to say Tucker is kind of funny
ReplyDeleteTUcker is funny but he's a loose cannon too!
ReplyDeleteI mean... I'd want him out of there if I was in the house.
ReplyDeleteI love Tucker, but I do fear his safety next week.
ReplyDeleteHe does seem to like creating chaos in the name of eliminating chaos (the super powers)
ReplyDeleteI would take out Tucker. He's way too comfortable in this game and really working everyone.
ReplyDeleteAgree!!!
DeleteNobody can keep there mouths shut..lol
ReplyDeleteIf they don't take out tucker tomorrow. They are dumber than I think..I hope he stays though ..at least he's fun.
ReplyDeleteUnlike Tucker ..she ain't stupid
ReplyDeleteTucker was a recruit, so he has nothing to lose going home. He just wanted to have some Action!!
ReplyDeleteand he is 100% about quinn.
That move right there is why you should Marcellus his ass. He's waaaayyyy too confident. Volunteering to be a pawn. Staying on the block when he didn't have to.
ReplyDeleteHe'll probably win the AI comp tomorrow though
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he thinks so. LOL
DeleteI hope America votes to put Quinn on the block
ReplyDeleteCedric should want Tucker out more than anyone. He forced him to get bloodier than ever. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming everyone! Don't forget to VOTE on CBS/Paramount+ See you tomorrow. xoxo
ReplyDeleteNow I want Tucker to go. He was a big jerk to Cedric
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming, folks. I'll see you tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be a cheerier conversation.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t mind. I think it’s always good to get some support from old friends.
DeleteYes!!! Get Tucker out of there, lol. Thanks Joe and everyone for the company and the prayers for my little Joey. Love to all and will see you tomorrow night! 💕
ReplyDeleteI'm voting for Cam but I want Tucker GONE
Thanks petals and Joe. Goodnight all. I hope I make it tomorrow night. MC is supposed to get tons of rain from Debby tomorrow
ReplyDeleteDang…. Got in here late again! We had people over and being on the West Coast doesn’t help matters! Ughhhhh! Thanks Joe and everyone!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your pup Joe. Thinking of you all who have furbabies not feeling well. Hugs.
